Why is the emigration database of the Generallandesarchivs Karlsruhe called "Müller-Database"?

The Generallandesarchiv Karlsruhe recognised the rising interest in emigration at an early stage. That insight was gained from the knowledge that about one million people emigrated from Baden in the 19th century alone. Since the 1930ies different card files were created answering inquiries mainly from the United States.

Wolfgang Müller started to complete the collected data systematically and process the card files electronically. Creating the database, Müller can take credit for the possibility of answering inquiries much faster than before.
